November program
In November, a program full of surprises!
This month, a couple of French artists are visiting Nanaimo. Dominique Schaetzel is a visual artist. Philippe Curé is a director. The opportunity for them to meet the French-speaking and Francophile community while sharing their passion for words and what they carry.
From November 2nd to 18than exhibit will be held at the association's location (1925 Bowen Road, Nanaimo). Called Petits mondes de consolation, this one will present works realized by the artist Dominique Schaetzel.
Visible during our opening hours (weekdays from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm or during our weekend workshops)
The arrival of this exhibition allows us to offer several activities related to Art in November.
All the activities will be held at the association's premises ,are gratuites et sur inscription and children under 12 years old must be accompanied.
- Le 2 novembre, à 18h : Prévert, un poète toujours d’actualité by Philippe Curé. A reading in music around Prévert, from 13 years old, duration 1 hour.
- Le 6 novembre, à 14 : a writing workshop led by P. Curé will allow the creation of characters, situations and monologues, for an adult audience, duration 2h30
- Le 10 novembre, à 18h : a story about the author Marie Lefranc, and her life between France and Canada. By P. Curé, author and director of the show Marie Lefranc, une vie entre deux rives, duration 1h
- November 11, from 10 to 12a collage workshop imagine your own little world, unreal, fantastic, funny, scary, surprising... will be led by D. Schaetzel, for all. Participants are invited to bring their own scissors if possible.
- November 26, from 10 to 12Come and create around the theme of autumn, a workshop open to all and led by Amélie Blanchard of Hélix-Art.
Our regular programming continues as well!
- November 16, from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm, The Mini Franco Fun is back, always aimed at French-speaking families and their young children, from 0 to 5 years old.
